Huge Japan News!!!

See, this is why we should thank our lucky stars that, while certainly, the FCC ans FTC aren't doing their jobs to the fullest extent, at least it's not this bad.

So are you saying there might be a way around it to the point that they might reverse what they doing?

Well, I just think that something like this is pretty much asking for people to challenge it, because filesharing has become so integral now that I doubt it can ever be completely stamped out, no matter what you do. And even if you could, something else will just take its place, eventually.

Probably a stupid question, but does Toku only air in Japan? I mean, are people able to receive channels like TV Asashi in other countries? If so, then it may not be that bad. Even if they can't, I dont think it will stick. It may just be one more hurdle we have to go through, but we will get the RAWs.

Regarding this whole matter, I'll just wait it out for the time being. It could just be a blanket that ISP's use to calm down the copyrighted industry.

To a small extent, yes. Certain programs are also available outside Japan, most of them airing some time after the original broadcast. However, few people receive those channels and even less (virtually none) encode files off of it to share on p2p

So in other words, no more File sharing but just Direct downloads and if you don't like, then shut up.:laugh: :laugh:
Uhm, you DO realize that all these direct downloads (megaupload, rapidshare, dedicated hosting, etc) are ALL dependent on the Japanese p2p programs, because that's where they get their files. It's like this (simplified version) :

Japanese encoder => Japanese P2P program => Japanese & foreign P2P users
foreign Japanese P2P users => direct downloads or western torrents / fansubs

Eliminate the link in italic, and you see there's a problem, right?
