How much does it cost to go to conventions?

The typical cost of a convention, especially a high-scale one like San Diego Comic-Con, is YOUR FIRST-BORN CHILD!!!!! :eplus2::evil3:

This can drive down room costs a lot but can complicate costs for travel. With SDCC travel is more of an issue than most other cons. If you're signing up for a room this late in the year you'll probably end up miles away from the convention center.

Nah--this is a next year thing at best. Just figuring out how much to save in advance. ^^ (Plus registration is closed this year already.)

When I went to my first con I spent $50.00 for the three day pass. However I spend most of my money on lunch & dinner than anything. Which I have to go to the ATM to get more money.

If you're planning for next year, then depending on the size of your group, you should be able to make out okay for around $1500.

In terms of transportation, I find groups of 3-4 easiest to work with. Enough to fit in one cab if you need it.
