How many of you are using Cyberlink DVD?

I take it you have a standard definition TV. If you watch widescreen movies in a 16:9 HDTV, you won't get those horizontal black boxes at all because the widescreen fits the whole picture. However, if you watch a full screen 4:3 movie or show on a 16:9 widescreen HDTV, you'll see vertical black boxes on the left and right side. Kinda like the videos you see on YouTube.

And no, full screen is not better than widescreen. Widescreen shows more picture.

Nope. I have HDTV. It's just that I preferred full screen format. Granted, I do watching movies in widescreen, but not EXTRA! Just a proper widescreen format that I can enjoying.

What the heck is "extra widescreen".

I think he means 2.39:1 format. Like this here.

But setting THOSE type of movies to full screen would still take away picture.
