How long should it take Square to develop a Final Fantasy game?

It takes 3 to 4 years to years to make the Final Fantasy numbered games and 2 years, I would think for the sequel games- but they end up taking a lot more time to develop, because they say the Square Enix team are perfectionists. Creating a whole new world with these games, does takes some time though.
These reasons are all true and some of them funny. Square knows that if they release the games, no matter how long they develop it, those who are waiting will 100% buy their game. Hell, we'll even buy the most expensive variant or the collector's edition of the game because of how much we love the series and how long we waited for their games to release. :D

From my experience with life, anything that is ever rushed comes out not well finished with lots of loopholes. There is no use for trying to rush a game and end up having the game fans complain bitterly about the nature of the game, bugs etc. It's better the game takes longer but be well developed.

I agree. Quality over quantity over these games. We wouldn't want it to turn out like the Assassin's Creed series which almost always release a game annually and they turn out to be buggy and almost has the same gameplay with their previous games.

Plus, the waiting time for a game makes me feel more excited to play them once they're released! It's like the excitement to play is building up for me. :D

I would rather wait a long time than end up getting disappointed with the finished game. :)

Exactly, it sucks when a game does not live to its expectations and it leaves everyone frustrated and not wanting to take up on playing such games again. It's a lot better that these games take longer to be developed and released which would allow the developers to take make all the necessary efforts to ensure that it comes out perfect.

Great games aren't always rushed to be produced and released in a hurry. In fact, the wait makes the game worth it when it finally gets released and I time of that release, the game would have passed all the test and upgrades/updates it needs to be almost perfect. So therefore, in my opinion the longer it takes, the better the game becomes.

I have to agree. I know many games where the developers rushed to meet the competition. And ended up making more issues. Also instead of going for patches, they ended up having more bugs. So it's true one should never rush making games.

My mother would always caution me not to be in some much haste in trying to do something because I would end up omitting some areas of what I needed to do which would end up making me to come back and start a fresh, and this makes a mockery of all my rushing. The same thing goes with game development, once the developers try to rush, they are bound to make a mistake period.

Nothing pisses off in games like bugs. They can literally make me lose interest completely in playing a particular game, so therefore with myself in question, game developers shouldn't be in a hurry to keep up with other competitors and end up making a mess of their franchise.

Your mother is one wise fellow, having such person as a mother to give one guidance at home is a treasure most people lack, so therefore make sure that you keep her close, and happy as well as always listen to her instructions.

Thanks my friend, she has been a major input in my life as I practically cannot do anything or be where I am today without her influence and guidance.
