I've several questions about both KiRangers. Did the replacement really die or was it just the character? And why did the first KiRanger leave (and later return)?

 

[Forever Knight]

He died in real life, I believe it was suicide.

 

[Shougo B'Stard]

The first Kiranger leaves the show (temporarily). The character is said to receive a promotion, while the story came about because the actor wanted to leave and do a play.

The replacement Kiranger comes in and his character is eventually killed off, and the original Kiranger returns to take his place.

The original Kiranger's actor is deceased, committing suicide a few years after Goranger's run. The second Kiranger still acts.
