Wow, you been hanging around this bunch of nuts and just now getting into Highlander? If you don't mind another opinion let me break down how I see things.
Must watch: Highlander (obviously lol), and Highlander: the series season 1-5
Not as good but watchable: Highlander 3,IMO at least gives a barely plausible reason as to why there a couple more immortal running around. Highlander: Endgame, decent if you forget you ever saw the trailer Keith posted. Highlander: the Search for Vengence, doesn't star a MacCloed proper, but a guy adopted by the clan when he fought y them in battle.
Only watch if you're a completist: Highlander 2, the original version toally craps on things they established in the first one. Never seen the director's cut so I can't really comment. Season 6, they knew the show was ending so they used most of it as a bunch of back door pilots to see which female character grabbed the most interest, Duncan barely appeares, in fact in two eps he's not seen at all. Highlander: the Raven, I tried, I really did but I could not get into this show. Highlander the Source, also know as the one that shall not be named. Saw this thing for free and still felt ripped off

So Season 1 really reminds me of a combination of the Forever Knight show and Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel (fight scenes) with the Ryuki storyline (even tho Highlander came long before Ryuki, I still saw Ryuki first).
I'm about 5 episodes in and already saw 2 21 Jump Street cameos from Deluise and Nguyen which totally fucking rocked hard.
I'm going to have to rewatch the movie again just answer some questions. I dont have any names memorized yet except Duncan and Tess lol. I watch this **** at work so I cannot sit and focus on what I'm watching 100%. Hopefully that'll change once I grab the Blu-ray set of Season 1 and the Movie to watch in the mornings after work with an ice cold beer, which I'm doing now with Terminator: TSCC HD.

I found an amazing looking complete DVD boxed set that contains ALL seasons. I might just pick that up aswell as another season 1 on Blu-ray... because this is **** that needs to be in HD. Infact I might even pick up the Movie 1 & Season 1 Blu-rays today if I got time before going to see Predators.
So Movie 1, The Series (Seasons 1-6), and End Game
then after that... Watch all of the shitty movies.
That shall be the plan.
You should know by now that I am a person who must watch and complete everything so yeah... shitty movies will be watched eventually.
I've seen bits of the first Highlander movie and a few of the series episodes many years ago but never really cared or got into it. What caught more of my interest was how people were saying it was similar to Kamen Rider Ryuki where there can only be 1. Fast forward to now... I've been on a misson watching and finding new shows {Lost, Eureka, Dead Zone, 4400, Farscape, etc...} and one of Keith's facebook status updates had something with Highlander in it and I automatically thought of Ryuki and said NOW IS THE TIME and thank God I did. This show blows the other new shows I'm watching out of the fucking water.
I'll be sure to download the Quickening version, thanks.

Pretty much, like I said they knew the show was ending so they made most of the ep backdoor pilots for the Highlander raven series. That and the storyline that made go what the ****? Don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil anything...although technically I already did with the whole backdoor pilot thing:redface2:
