No, not that one
If you saw the "difference between the eras" thread, I made this post about how the fandom of toku was incredibly similar to the fandom of Gundam

And it got me thinking of this thing that me and Lynxara talked about a while back and then I started thinking of more connections.
*For starters, they both have two separated "universes" vastly different from each other in years. KR has Showa/Heisei and Gundam has UC/AU (though this theory doesn't really hold water now since thanks to Decade and Turn A Gundam, they all became one so...
). As such, the universes tend to create a fandom that is completely divided, but that's not important anyway.*Both have that one series that changed what everything meant. KR had Hibiki and Gundam had G which made a completely different genre (and Turn A, but you could make a case that at least Turn A at least was still a Real Robot anime)
*Both are run by companies that the fandoms of have realized that they are somewhat more in it for way more money and as such, things are too different now. Like Kamen Rider's over dependence on CGI and Gundam having the Gundams getting the least money, have more of a spotlight (or write them out)
*The music has evolved. Kamen Rider and Gundam had openings in their early days about how effing awesome the Kamen Rider/Gundam(pilot) was (or at least their first ones did. Zeta and ZZ second openings were smooth ballads about how sad and hopeful life could be). Now, we have pop stars making themselves known through both. Though at least Kamen Rider gets their names still in the song or in the title. I think the last one for Gundam was TURN A TURN!
*Kamen Rider Decade and SEED/Destiny very much stroked the egos of the stars Gackt and T.M. Revolution respectively having them both sing the majority of theme music for their respective series and having cameos in them as well (Gackt/Yuuki Joji, T.M.R/Heine, Narrator)
*This is the big one. The biggest connection lies in Zeta/ZZ and Black/RX. Zeta and Black are notable for being really serious as well as having the first sequels. However, their sequels are considerably more light-hearted than their first ones. (though after Zeta, pretty much anything is light-hearted).
*And lastly, both of their newest incarnations are well-recieved after less than favorable previous seasons (that both have their series true endings in a movie) and seem to go back to a format and use things from their original eras while still maintaining a "new" feel (though Unicorn actually is in it's old era)
Oh, none of this is really meant to sound negative. Just somewhat observing/cynical. I enjoy both.
EDIT: Oh yeah, Amuro's seiyuu voiced Black RX in that SD Riders anime special which was kinda meta for me.
