Got an Interview w/ Bruce Kalish Lined-Up: Need Questions

Will you return for Power Rangers 2006?

Oh gosh, I really hope so.

Tell me how come you have to use Commander Cruger instead of Doggie Kruger? I mean, why do you have to make on your own Doggie Kruger INSTEAD of Doggie Kruger?

(I like to know more information about this. Yes, I know for one reason... Doggie Kruger's mouth immovable.)

I can answer this. To match the rest of the production. Using Doggie Krueger's head would look pretty damn low budget compared to the rest of the production. Way too low for such an integral character.

Works just prime in Sentai, but Power Rangers needs a bit more oomf. And since they have the materials and the budget to do it, they do.

Besides, why would we want Doggie done again when he's done just prime in his own show. I'm glad we have our own Anubis.

Can you tell us exactly why Jason David Frank will not be returning for the Dino Thunder / SPD team up (if it's true)?

Hell, I can tell you that, I was the one who broke the story after calling his office. He doesn't have time because he's opening a Dojo in Texas.

Mr. Kalish, were you at all intimidated at following up such an obviously fan favorite (except for three people on this board. :) ) show with Dino Thunder?

How much time have you spent studying PR history in order to work in references for us like the mention of KO-35 in "Stakeout"?

We've noticed a lot of prop re-use over in S.P.D., so far. The Blue Senturion, Space Ranger helmets, Deviot, Red Time Force Ranger and etc. While some fans certainly appreciate these as nods to PR's past. Others are growing concerned that these props are being re-used carelessly and may ultimately damage the rich continuity that many longtime fans remain very passionate about.

So my question is, when doing things like having a man dressed in a cloak and wielding drill-esque weapon. (Both signatures of Red Space Ranger Andros one of the most popular Rangers that isn't from the original series.) Are they done with acknowledgement of the past in mind and intended as treats for longtime fans? Or are they simply convenient cost-cutting measures and fanboys need to go get a life?

If that's honestly true then that sucks. Because if you are going to come back for a season, at least make time in your schedule to plan for a eventual team up. I mean daym. -_-

Also, JC! Try to get us some good answers. For example: Alot of people fall into the trap of asking multiple questions in one take. Such as "Do you like Orange Juice, and why?". Chances are, when you do that, he wont answer you completely. He will just say "yes" and move on. I hate it when people do that.

Basically, try to ask him (ahead of time) if he can elaborate on his answers before you get to the questions and reassure him that you are interested in hearing as much as possible. Some people who are being interviewed are so used to giving short answers because they have to. Let him know that he can take him time so we get good answers. I mean, the last thing we want to read is a "yes" or "no" or "Wait and see" answer to all the questions.

Annnywho, remember, Kalish wrote "Isnt it Lava-ly" on Dino Thunder. I wonder if we should ask a question about that as well. Like, how much he learned from working briefly on Dino Thunder or perhaps, if he enjoyed working on DT.

The thing that bothered me is that I loved Isnt It Lava-ly. Such great writing and it involved Zeltrax. Zeltrax was losing strength and the only thing that could help him was Mesogog. And yet, after that episode.. Boom. No word or mention of Zeltrax at ALL. I mean one minute Mesogog is searching for Zel and the next ep, nothing. Its like they ignored what Bruce did and went on with the repetitive weekly "send down a monster! You failed You are punished! HISSS"!

Bah, I kind of went off topic there. Anyways. Meow!

Okay...I've got some,

What made you decide to do SPD?

Do you think PR has changed over the years for better or for worse?

If you had worked on any previous seasons, what seasons would you have picked and what would you have done different?
