Godzilla just kicked my ass..... W O W

Forever Knight

Eye See You
So I wake up with a massive hangover and I decide to tune into the Space Network to see what time the Jaws marathon begins and Godzilla vs. Mothra was on.

The only Godzilla I've ever watched is the U.S. flick, and a few minutes of 2000.

Now I tuned in right at the point where 'zilla was fighting Mothra and another flying beast and I was completely blown away. The Tokusatsu was just oozing from this and I was hooked on this more then a Prostitute on crack.

Now... I MUST WATCH ALL GODZILLA MOVIES from beginning to latest.

Is there some sort of collectors edition DVD Boxset out and can someone toss me a list of all the Godzilla movies?.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Godzilla! Godzilla vs Mothra is one of my favorites

There are a bunch of different DVD box sets out there that you can find online or in stores, so before you start collecting, I suggest you do some research first, so you can make sure you're not getting doubles or any one movie.

I wasn't aware that there was an R1 box set that had every movie in it. Doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, though.

I'm pretty sure every Godzilla movie, to date, has been dubbed into English. I don't see why they wouldn't include subbed versions, as well.

It's about time, dude. Welcome to the club.

Here's the full list of all the movies and there's a DVD set here.

There was a Godzilla Final Box out a while back, but it's out of print, and unless you wanted to pay almost a thousand bucks for it, well...

There are new box sets in Japan that are already out (each come with a limited edition Bandai figure). They're just as good, even though they're divided into fives (or something along those lines).

And thus, a Godzilla fan is born!

Personally, I recommend the entire series of films from 1954-1975 (the Showa Godzilla Series), my all-time favorite series. But you may enjoy the 2nd series, the VS Series (1984-1995), as well as the third and last series at this point, the Millennium Series (1999-2004).

Godzilla Vs. Megalon is my personal favorite film. It must be seen in its original Japanese version, or at least any widescreen English print (Sci-Fi Channel occasionally runs Toho's international English dub in widescreen)! The sad thing is that it's still yet to be properly released on DVD here, even though Toho supposedly reacquired the rights just recently (the crappy Public Domain versions don't do it justice).

Another personal favorite of mine is Godzilla Vs. Gigan, which you can find on DVD in America.

If Toho's Region 2 DVDs are hard for you to get, then I highly recommend Classic Media's Godzilla DVDs (which contain both the Japanese and US versions). Sony's releases of the classic films is highly recommendable as well.

That other flying beast was Battra, the polar opposite of Mothra.

I've always loved Godzilla and his kaiju friends. My all time favorite is and shall always be the classic Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla. I don't care what anyone says. King Caesar is the fuckin' man! :buttrock:
