GI Joe Movie Starring Mark Wahlberg

Ugh. There's going to be a live-action GI Joe movie with Mark Wahlberg possibly starring as Duke.

No good can come of this.

well I kind of like the angle they are seemingly taking on the GI Joe movie. By focusing on how a man becomes someone terrible like Cobra Commander. I think I read long ago the story might focus on an angle that has Duke and an early Cobra Commander being best buds until something tragic happens and they get seperated and Duke is forced to face his buddy who is now scarred and scorned.

It's an interesting concept anyway but something tells me the movie probably wont pull off anything amazing.

Mark Wahlberg has proven himself a thousand times over at being a good actor, soooo.... while strangely cast, I don't think this spells doom at all.

It all depends on the behind the camera team they got. So long as they have the right people.... I guess we'll see.

This is just an old fan's opinion but much like the upcoming TF movie, this will also bear little resemblance to the actual property and treat the important GI Joe stuff as crap.

And just like the TF live action movie, this will also suck ass.

There's only ever been one good TF movie and one good GI Joe movie, both came out a long, long time ago. Acquire copies and then cry.

I agree. The guy was nominated for an Oscar ( I think :sweat: ), so that tells you righ there that he has chops. I even liked him in that short lived show on the WB called Runaway. I think he would make a good older Duke.
