It's Judgement Time!
I didnt see a discussion thread for this. I guess I shouldnt be surprised, did anyone go see it? I saw it because I collected the comic when I was a kid (I wasnt into comics but I liked Ghost Rider and Spiderman. That was it really. And I only liked Spidey for Venom and Green Goblin mostly.)
The movie was a bigger dissapointment than what I was expecting. The only good thing about it was the cute humor. The rest of it felt boring. I'm not saying I expected something awesome here. I knew from the start that this was going to be a shakey movie, in fact, the commercials didnt really make the movie feel as though it was going to be very good at all. I got that "bad" vibe from all the trailers. However, I figured I would go see it just because it's Ghost Rider and it stars Nic Cage (one of the few actors I really like and can remember the name of). Not to mention, it's a freaking Flaming Skull with leather, a chain, and a bad ass bike. I figured at least this would have to feature some very imaginative and creative action scenes!
But no. Actually the action shots were very boring. They all consisted of Ghost Rider getting hit once. Then the Rider just finishes off his oppnent in one hit or so. Those "Stare into my eye" finishers lasted just a few seconds too long. I was like "damn, ok we get the point. Murder, mayhem.".
The Ghost Rider felt a little too weak. He was all sizzle and no "bang". I really just figured, if anything, this movie would deliver on the action making it worth the money and time. But no, there was nothing good about this movie other than the humor. Which the humor was very cute and subtle. I liked it.
But yeah, I guess I'm saying that this movie really isnt worth it. Probably not even to Ghost Rider fans. There's no real pay off in the movie and it felt a bit boorish at times. If you were thinking about seeing this movie, my opinion is to just wait for a DVD release and rent it. I didnt think it was worth the gas and ticket money spent going.
