[Anime] Getting Into One Piece...Again.

Watched the second and third episodes and yeah, these feel like they can be a single episode easily, but I love its setup as it is.

Again with the uncut nature of this dub, it makes far more sense as it never gets into much detail with Zoro's arrest. Or was it in the 4Kids dub? This is already better than half of television I watch these days. Didn't feel like much to watch as it was very entertaining. Now I remember why I love this show so much even under that dub. :buttrock:

On the fourth episode. I can see why they cut this out, but really, this is awesome.

-Finished with fifth episode. Again very well done and Nami makes more sense here.

Water 7 did have a good story but.... I just couldn't get the same feeling from the anime as I had used to when it turned into: 2:30 Opening, recaps upon recaps, filler padding everywhere, no ending song, 1:1 chapter -to-episode pacing, etc.

Meh, that is why the gods invented a fast forward button. I don't recall an ending song missing, but then, I don't watch those anyway, so that is probably why.

The dude from Skypeia, the electric guy.

You mean Eneru? When the hell did Enel become his name? Nothing against you, but your post is the first time I have ever seen it spelled that way as both the manga and DVDs have it written and pronounced as Eneru.

I know Ls and Rs can be the same, but his name just does not sound right as Enel because it sounds like you are saying An Eel, and he looks nothing like an eel.

It was spelled Enel on scanlations and in the One Piece wikia. I'm not a One Piece fan (dropped it a long time ago), but I only know of it as Enel, and never did know it as Eneru. I don't have access to official material though.

And no, "Enel" does not sound like "An Eel" at all. Wherever did you get that idea from? "E" is pronounced as "Eh" in all the languages I know.

Schw-- when did Ultraman join the convo?
Anyways, since those examples are apparently not good ones, what about "Cornelia" or "we" or "elixir"? English words with the "e" making an "eeee" sound.

Cornelia is pronounced with "eh" where I'm from. The rest are correct, of course.

And yeah, just so this doesn't become further off-topic , if I encounter an "e" I don't know how to pronounce, I always think it's "Eh". "ee" doesn't even cross my mind. That's why I don't understand it. English is my first language, but our local languages and Spanish use that convention. So does Japanese.

Seen up to the 7th episode via dub on Hulu. This show makes FAR more sense now than it did in the 4Kids days. Not sure if every episode was dubbed, but if it wasn't , it explains how Nami was pretty much won over by Luffy and that dog.......

Now that's a story. 8(

Well I'm caught up with the DVDs. Man, they really do like the drag out the Water 7/Enies Lobby stuff, don't they?

My god, at long last, the Enies Lobby arc is finally over with the latest DVD. Okay, sure, there is still the stuff with Garp on the next volume, but all of the fighting and crap on Enies Lobby itself is finally over. That took way too damn long in the anime. There was no reason for the sea train and Lobby to be stretched out that far, and that is with taking out the stupid clip shows and annoying Boss Luffy filler they just decided to randomly insert into the show out of no where. The Water 7 arc in the manga is probably my favorite arc, or at least tied with Alabasta, but this just shows why nothing everything works out well in a weekly anime. It's funny too because I felt Alabasta was enriched by its filler stories as we got to learn more about the country itself. Here, it was just pointless battle scenes that made the battle on Namek look short, so I felt I know just as much about Enies Lobby, CP9, and the Government as I did in the manga.

Well whatever, at least there is only one more volume to go before Thriller Bark.
