Garren? Blade? Chalice? Leangle? - What's the Theme?

Here's how it breaks down-

(Rider Name) - (Card Suit) - (Tarot Card Thingie) - (Animal Based On)

Blade - Spade - Swords - Hercules Beetle

Garren- Diamond - Coins (sometimes Pentacles) - Stag Beetle

Chalice - Heart - Cups ( or Chalice, a kind of cup ;) ) - Mantis

Leangle - Club/Clover - Wands - Spider

Exactly. Its like Game Cards and Tarot Cards AND Bug theme all combined into one. It's a nice theme. I actually figured this all out about half way through the series. I was all like "heeeey!"

Garren is awesome!! :jam:

People keep mentioning that in addition to playing cards and tarot cards that Blade has a chess thing going on, which I don't quite understand. Does anybody know what that's about? Guessing, I'd say...

Blade -- King? Being the head honcho and all.

Chalice -- Queens can move in any of the piece's direction, sort of like the Joker being whatever it wants.

Leangle -- Pawn. An easily controlled weakling.

Gallen -- Knight? Jumps over his fellow warriors to achieve his goal?

This might not be it, but that's the best I can guess. Unless this is just someone's theory. It has to be, because why do we now have Hibiki having a chess theme, too?

While I don't think the connection's intentional, you're conclusion here is pretty undeniable.

Wow..O_O
