Garo-Kiba side story questions

Having watched it and Red Requiem for the first time last night, there are some things about the Kiba side story I don't understand.

1) Where was Erda during the first show's finale? Barago's narration in Kiba takes place after he kidnaps Kaoru from the Saejima residence, yet she never appeared with the Watchdogs or fought the Knights. Where did she go?

2) Erda also mentions in her monologue that she had foreseen that she, Shinji and the other two Knights would not find Ganon's corpse. Well then, why did she go on the journey with them? Why didn't she tell them they would find nothing? She laments everything that happened afterward, but she could have prevented the whole thing.

3) Bado was the Western District's Knight when Kiba was around. So where was Zero (not Rei, but the Zero before him) at that time? Is Bado part of the Silver Fang Knight lineage, or another one entirely?

Erda appeared for the first time in Kiba Gaiden, and so far that is the only place where you can see her, she doesn´t appear in the original series nor in Makai Senki.

As for where she was during Garo´s Finale, since she didn´t existed at the time that is anyone guess, maybe she will be mentioned in the upcoming Garo movie and they will retroactively explain it, or maybe they will forget about her and she will become a flaming plot hole in the sky or something.

I am not sure why she didn´t say anything about their already doomed mission, maybe she decided not to say anything because she wanted to expose the knights as traitors or something along those lines, i need to watch it again to be sure.

Bado was not Rei´s predecessor nor a member of that lineage, it might be hard to tell from KG because Kiba does not age but his battles against Bado (or at the very least the last one) took place during the original series time frame. During the last arc of the series it is mentioned that the knight of the Western District was murdered, they are talking about Bado himself, so he was a knight alongside Kouga and Rei and not their predecessor.

As for Rei´s predecessor, the previous Zero (if that was his name) died long before the beginning of the series, Rei was supposed to start a new lineage since the original had died down.

She says she only realized the treachery when it actually happened, though she had detected a dark presence during the trip. There's no indication she suspected the two Knights beforehand.

Rei's title lineage is a little complicated. No previous Knight called himself "Zero". "Rei" isn't his real name. He renamed himself "Rei" because it apparently sounds like the Japanese word for "zero", and he then thought that he had nothing left after his adopted father and adopted sister/lover (eww!) were murdered. As well as calling himself Rei he added the "Zero" to his title. The "Silver Fanged Knight" bit was inherited from his adopted father, who trained him (though IIRC he initially tells Kouga it's a new title with no previous owners). However, his adopted father was depicted as already being bed-ridden before he was killed, plus they never really established the location of his house, so it might not have been in the Western District. In addition, as seen in the second series, Knights can be reassigned (as Kouga was).

So no, Bado doesn't seem to be part of the Silver Knight lineage (I can't remember now, do we see him in his armor? Armor is hereditary in the Garo world). Whether he took over the assignment after Rei's dad was injured, is left to fanon. Either Bado had no son to take his spot, or his son was assigned elsewhere, so Rei was sent there.

He renamed himself "Rei" because it apparently sounds like the Japanese word for "zero"

He writes the name "Rei" with 零. This kanji means "zero, spill, overflow, nothing, cipher". As a word on it's own, it means "zero, nought." So it doesn't "sound like" the word for "zero", it is the word for "zero".
