Gaiman wins against McFarlane

Judge rules Dark Ages Spawn, Domina and Tiffany are derivative characters.

Honestly this is good news. The argument about whether or not Image has done more to help or to hurt the industry is a massive discussion, but without a doubt in my mind Todd McFarlane is not even a factor in that debate. He cares nothing for anyone but himself, not for his fellow creators, his fans, or the industry as a whole.

Good. After McFarlane seemed to have INVENTED those characters so he wouldn't have to pay royalties to Gaiman for using Angela, Medieval Spawn, etc.

In the early Spawn issues, Mcfarlane was always inserting editorial comments about how creators should be free to own their own characters. Pretty ironic.
