Eh, I think the guy has a point. What is creepy about Fourze is the sheer scale of the conspiracy, which is designed to let people in positions of authority prey on kids who are supposed to trust them. They are doing this in a way that purposefully exploits the emotional vulnerabilities of teenagers, encouraging them to express themselves at the expense of others. It's sanitized, but basically grappling with a lot of the same ideas as Battle Royale and media about school rampage shootings.
That is a very different kind of creepy than what other Rider shows have gone for and I think Fourze deserves some credit for coming up with a new approach to generating tension. Yeah, older shows had monsters that killed more people or were shot in ways that more genuinely approximated a horror movie, but I can't think of a show that really has anything comparable to Fourze's conspiracy angle. For some people, the thought of the deck being stacked against you is going to be much more unsettling than anything involving rubber monsters.
