VS Light Yagami. No anime character has ever parred Light Yagami but Lelouch in terms of his own character.

There have been plenty of pretentious young boys that aim for power, hold great abilities themselves, and think they are "the ****". Lelouch and Light are just the most well known since how "generic" the archetype has become.

But seriously Code Geass was just Sunrise riding Death Note's popularity wave.

Not sure what the creater is up too, but if your looking for an anime just as enjoyable to watch, try looking up Gantz, and Elfen lied! I find them just as enjoyable, despite it's graphic nature.

Code Geass and Gantz a bit but not so much Elfen Leid. Try Akagi though, it ain't Death Note but its the mental games of genius.

Right now the Author and Illustrator are doin a Manga called "Bakuman"
its about two 15-year-olds trying to create they're own manga to be serialized in weekly jump. its really goood.

Keith, if you haven't seen'em already, why not try watching the Death Note live action movies? There pretty good, for live action films based on anime.
