Firefly - The True Space Western

I'm loving this show. I'm about four episodes in. Great feel, original take on a sci-fi show and fun.

Unfortunately I can see why it didn't catch on to normal folk. I think it would've done well and survived on Sci Fi Channel's Fridays.

And it looks like it'll be getting a chance with it coming to Sci Fi in July sometime.

Anyone else watch this show?

I'd heard of it, but I never actually caught it.

Intersting bit of trivia--two of Firefly's stars, Gina Torres and Nathan Fillion are recurring characters on Justice League Unlimited as Vixen and Vigilante respectively.

I;ve heard of this. Isn't it some Space Cowboy series created by Joss "Buffy" Whedon?.

I've only heard amazing things about this. To my knowledge it only lasted a season. I am considering picking up the DVD box set.

Some Canadian Actress' are in it. Slap some maple syrum on dem couche. Yummmay!.

Best. Show. Ever.

Keep watching Keith. It only gets better. My favorite eps, personally, are "Shindig" and "Out of Gas."

The true testament to how awesome this series is and how much of a following its gained were last Febuary at Wondercon. There was a Starship Smackdown panel, where the audience picked ships and then discussed and voted on who should win all the way up to the finish. The two finalists? The Original Enterprise and the Serenity. In the end, the audience couldn't reach a decision and we decided Mal and Kirk went off and had a drink together.

I loved this show when it was on. ou had a very interesting mix of Characters. The premise was cool. And it had the trademark Whedon humor. I positive this show would have taken off if Fox didn't put it in the death slot.

I like to reiterate that this show is the motherlovin' ****. I'm sorry I didn't give it a chance when it was on and I wish there was a way that it could've survived.

Saffron... definatley one of my favorite characters on that show.

I loved how the second episode opened up with the Captain sitting on a rock butt ass naked and saying, "Huh... that went well."

There was something so wester about seeing him get horn-swaggled like that, leaping up and and down in his birthday suit yelling at the double-crossin' no good trickster of a wench that was getting away with his loot.

I am SO glad this is getting its own movie and I sincerely hope that the movie gets its due.

If you're thinking about what DVD's to pick up next.... this is it.

I've only heard about this show never seen it. When I first heard about it I thought it'd be about the Batman character "Firefly" because it premiered on FOX on a friday night where they'd air Dark Angel and what not which is why I made the association. Still haven't seen it and have no idea what it's about.
