Final Fantasy VII Bonanza on the PSP

I know that the PSP ain't really hot with many people, but There's two good reasons why I wanna get one now...

Reason #1 - Finally...a GOOD PSOne Emulator for the PSP...

Reason #2 - Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

Well there are actually quite a few decent games on the PSP. It's just that Sony doesn't really advertise about them. Sony, it seems, has basically turned its back on the PSP in order to give its full attention to the PS3. What I'm wondering is why does Sony keep slipping on corporate banana peals lately.

Let's all have a moment of silence for Sony and hope that they can get out of their rut. Because monopolization is bad, especially in the world of video games.

Too bad the firmware I have on my PSP isn't downgradable unless I have an unpatched version GTA:Liberty City Stories. But I've known about Crisis Core for quite a while. I'm pretty excited about it.

How does the downgrading work exactly? I've heard some stuff like you need a certain version of the PSP in order for the firmware to work. Like OE-A or OE-B or somethin' like that...

...don't really understand the whole deal of it all so if anyone can explain it a bit more simply, it'd help.

EDIT: Found a really insightful tutorial on downgrading the firmware, getting custom firmware, etc., but still...I only understood half of it. Gonna give it another look again when I get the time due to its length.
