Final Fantasy Versus XIII Cancelled?

So Square Enix just announced their latest "big project" and it turns out to be another sequel to Final Fantasy XIII? Are you kidding me? Who fricken asked for a sequel to a sequel? Who clapped their hands at this announcement? Square Enix just continues to disappoint as years go by. I don't see them in the same light as I used to. I want the old Squaresoft back actually but no, the Spirits Within movie had to change everything. This is lame. Very lame. No announcement for a Kingdom Hearts 3 as they're stuck on the sequels/spin-offs of the first two games. Nothing about Versus XIII so far either.

Versus XIII is developed by a different team from XIII and the project they've just announced isn't a continuation of XIII-2, but an expansion of Lightning's own story. I don't see the reason to complain/whine.

Don't know if anyone has heard of this, but it's called "Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII."
