Spider-Man was one of the first heroes that firmly established himself without being someone's second fiddle and solidified the idea that teenagers can be heroes. Most of the guys in Tokusatsu nowadays aren't even that young (Magiranger being a very rare exception), so I don't see what difference it makes.

But a wiser, older hero from time to time is awsome. I think all the instances of them in toku have been done real well, I cant think of one i didnt like. (as far as characterization and need, not necessarily the series' they're in .. *cough* hibiki)
