Favorite Sentai ending

I don't know what to say anymore. I've given reasons and examples to support my stance as well as referenced official material like interviews, articles, novels. In my years of being a Jetman fan, you're pretty much the only one to run with this interpretation. It's your freedom to interpret the character that way by watching the series, but you can't keep trying to make it THE interpretation of the character.

My suggestion? Let's just leave it at that. If we drag this on I may go against that old adage of, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

They are all just yours and her opinions anyway. It's not like what you are lynxara is saying is fact or true on either side.

That and the low ratings of Gokaiger/low DVD sales of the series itself. OOO didn't get a V-Cinema release either so I guess they decided it wasn't going to be sustainable while the ratings and DVD sales aren't high enough

Den-O had low ratings too, and the series got a ton of theatrical movies after the show ended; the Den-O toys were a huge success.

The Rangers Keys are also very popular, so Gokaiger can still have a chance; especially considering the team that it is.

I don't think that that anyone expected to have his/her thread about favorite sentai endings turn into a debate about Gai, etc. So it went to hell as a result.

To me it seems inevitable, but I've seen a lot of these things over the years. Jetman's epilogue is really the main Sentai ending I've ever seen in which something worth debating happens, and what's worth debating is what the hell (if anything) it's trying to say about Gai.

It's your freedom to interpret the character that way by watching the series, but you can't keep trying to make it THE interpretation of the character.

That's not at all what I'm trying to do. That's not even a goal that makes any sense to me. I'm just saying my interpretation is valid and completely supported by the source. It doesn't matter that it's contradictory with your or other interpretations. Because Jetman is (for the most part) well-written, it can happily support many completely different interpretations of the same characters and events.

Den-O had absolutely ridiculous home video sales, something like 30K per volume. A typical Toei henshin hero moves about 3K units per volume. While it's true that Den-O's toys did well, Den-O's movies were pretty clearly made to keep taking advantage of the crazy-high home video sales. The Den-O movie series basically comes to an end when Den-O movie sales drop to the point where they don't do any better than typical Rider stuff.

Shinkenger I believe also had higher-than-usual home video sales, though I can't remember the numbers off the top of my head. I want to say around 10-12K per volume? But basically high enough that a direct-to-video release made sense. Gokaiger hasn't been especially successful on home video, unfortunately, so a Returns sequel just seems unlikely to me. If Gokaiger gets another Versus movie, I expect that'll be the last time we see them.

A lot of people seem to think that no Go-Busters vs Gokaiger is going to happen. I'll be really sad if it doesn't, but Vs Specials are announced in ... like November each time? So there's still a chance

I think Gai Yuki looks like John Stamos. Could you imagine if Jetman was adapted first and John Stamos got the role of the Black Ranger? He'd look more like his Sentai counterpart than Eric does.

When I was a kid, I thought John Stamos should play Batman...

I'm still ashamed of that.
