Favorite Green Lantern?

Hal Jordan seems to be the epitome of 'superhero-ness', well before Parallax and everything which came after that.

Hal, he's the regular guy who's given responsibility, learned ethnic lessons from the right people, has real flaws, and lets loose when screwed. When he became Paralax, it was so stupendously handled I didnt care much about Kyle or his "last of the corps" shitic, I just saw a hero turn badass out of personal choice, and for reasons valid and reasonable. Hal could have been a great life lesson in power corrupting absolutley.

But Geoff likes Hal, DC likes Hal, and the fans liked Hal, so they paid no attention to people who liked Kyle and just made a bitch he was never represented as in the title.

Hal Jordan, no question.

In recent years, Darwyn Cooke did a great job making Hal the main character/hero in DC: The New Frontier, and making him even more empathetic than just some "second-rate superhero character" below Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

Ahh, New Frontier FTW. The anti-Watchmen. Gotta love it. I agree Cooke did great things with the character of Hal in that book. I liked the emphasis on Hal thinking as a pilot when he used the ring.

Still my favorite scene in New Frontier is the one with Batman, Superman, and Robin.

DC: The New Frontier, Darwyn Cooke Hal Jordan =

Geoff Johns' Hal Jordan = :bawling:

I'm with Keith in that Hal generally bores me to tears. At least the recent come back from the dead, Geoff Johns version. For a while after Rebirth all he did was go "Oh I'm Hal Jordan! I did terrible things as Parallax and now everyone hates me! Woe! Alas I must take the hate butt-ugly aliens throw at me because I am poor Hal Jordan ... and I did bad things as Parallax." Hal seems somewhat like Superman in that with a good writer that understands him, he's a great character, but anything less and he's just dull and boring.

Or maybe it's just Johns' generally sub-par writing.

I like John Stewart because of the JL/JLU cartoon. As for Kyle I've always been pretty neutral towards him.
