Favorite 21st Century Sentai

Would definitely have to be Abaranger. I feel it's really one of the last Sentai that took chances with its direction on a pretty frequent basis and that paid off quite nicely. I often see people cast it off as a goofy Sentai, but it was one of those shows that managed to play both ends of the spectrum in an amazing manner. When it was silly, it was silly, when it was dramatic, it was dramatic. It always stood out to be because it was the sort of show that would never let the viewer get too comfortable with the mood, as if there was always something waiting around the corner to change the game.

I loved the show seemed to spend just as much time building its villains as it did the heroes. Sure, not all of the villians might have been interesting, but for the most part they were more than generic baddies wanting to take over the world because...hell, it's a Tuesday and that feels like a Tuesday sort of thing. Though, even it seemed like they gave that idea an interesting spin with AbareKiller, who I genuinely find to be one of the most interesting rangers out there, if only for the fact that he was basically evil for a huge portion of the series and eventually found some sort of redemption, tragic as it might have been.

Also, I really really loved the parental aspect of Ryouga's relationship with Mai. I think it would be cool to take that a step further one day and give a ranger an actual child of their's, but this is a rather nice close second.

Annnnd just because I fee like listing the rest of the decade's Sentai:

1. Abaranger
2. Magiranger
3. Gekiranger
4. Timeranger
5. Gaoranger
6. Dekaranger
7. Hurricanger
8. Shinkenger
9. Go-Onger / Boukenger - These were both pretty bad, but both had aspects I really enjoyed. The first 15 or so episode in Go-Onger were great and I loved everything about Eiji.

And no Goseiger? :P

My favorite would probably have to be GekiRanger. It wasn't perfect, but it did give a solid story and characters I liked seeing together.

I can't decide. I love Magiranger, but Gekiranger was much epic. Timeranger had excellent character developments, but Hurricaneger was the one to prove to me that the early 21st Century Sentai actually give a damn.
