One thing I found funny with this was on the Excel Saga DVD where, in episode 18-"Shiritsu Sentai Daitenzen"...the ADV Notes used Power Rangers as an example of Super Sentai...the statement itself is politically incorrect only because Power Rangers is an adapted translation of Sentai, not part of the genre. The statement didn't bug me, but it's statements like those that usually start fights among the fandoms.
AnimEigo has excellent linear notes, and so does Media Blasters. ADV is the whore of the licensing industry it's only interested in making money not making fans happy. That's why they blame lowering sales on digisubbers instead of their own saturation of the market.
Actually, I was talking about people thinking Otaku means anime fan. It actually means someone who's into something to an unhealthy extent (avoiding social contact with anyone,putting off bills to buy said item) That sorta thing.
Oataku was the name of the serial killer, so it's easy to see how it's mistaken.
