FAIR Prices for Gashapon single figures...

Howzit ALL,

Just wanted your take on this. What do you think is a fair price for single figure Gashapon? I got some extras that are taking up space and I may decide to sell them. I got stuff from standard Gasha, HGCORE, Ultimate Solid types...

I got mine from Japan, and paid for them accordingly. But what do you folks think is a fair price in the USA, since I'd only be mailing them there?

TIA and Henshin Safely!!!:buttrock:

I always say, take the amount you bought the set for, and divide it by how many figures came in the set.

For example:

I bought motion revive series 4 for 45 dollars, and it came with 8 figures. that like 5.60 a figure.

that's just an example, but to me that seems like a pretty fair way.

A typical HG or HGCORE figure is 200 Yen in the machine (300 for Ultimate Solid)... but, it's completely random as to who you would get. As a result, when they're sold by collector shops, the prices range because you now have that power to pick and choose, and they have the power to set different prices. Some are as low as 50 yen, some are up to 2500 (about $25), so it largely depends on the character and whether or not they are a "rare" (re: variation) figure.

Since I would guess you had to shell out something extra just to get them into the US in the first place, doubling the original price isn't that crazy for something already so cheap. In other words, I think $3~4 for one figure is fair, but to be honest I think it's more appealing to sell a couple figures for a lump sum. Like say, a set of 6 for $15~20 isn't too bad, because it would be about $12 to get them all anyway in Japan, and that's if you were lucky enough to get them out of a machine without any extras (which is pretty much impossible, speaking from experience. )

Have you checked eBay? If there are any people there that are selling the same figures you are, you can see what they are asking for to see what the going rate is.
