I would have much preferred a proper Legally Blonde 3 where Elle Woods runs for president. They literally teased it at the end of Legally Blonde 2, and after all these years, that’s the story I want to see. Elle going from lawyer to politician would have been the perfect way to bring her character full circle—still using her charm and intelligence but now on the biggest stage possible. And honestly, after Kamala lost to the cheeto, I think we need more media normalizing the idea of a female president. Elle Woods would be such a fun, inspiring figure to put in that role. Instead, we’re getting a high school prequel? Sure, it might be fun, but I don’t need to see Elle’s teenage years when there’s a much bigger, more relevant story that could have been told. Hopefully, Legally Blonde 3 still happens, and we get to see President Elle Woods one day.

Instead of giving us a prequel about teenage Elle, I’d rather see her in Legally Blonde 3 fighting for real change in politics. Imagine her taking on corrupt officials, winning debates with charm and facts, and proving once again that underestimated women can change the world. If Reese Witherspoon ever runs out of ideas for the sequel, there’s her plot. We don’t need a teenage Elle—what we need is President Elle Woods making America competent again.
