Double Fine 25th Anniversary Box Set Includes Nearly Every Game

I’m making my own indie game right now, and seeing this makes me feel inspired. Double Fine represents something rare in the game industry—creative freedom. They’ve had hits and misses, sure, but they never stopped experimenting. “Hack ‘n’ Slash” and “Spacebase DF-9” weren’t perfect, but I liked that they took risks. I hope the retrospective book talks about those choices honestly. We always hear success stories, but I want to read about what went wrong too. That’s how we learn. I think this box set is more than just a collector’s item. It’s a piece of design and development history. People talk about AAA studios all the time, but Double Fine’s story matters just as much. I probably won’t buy the box set, since I’m spending all my money on Unity plugins and food, but I really respect it.
