"Comming on the fall of 1991"

Chotto Matte Kudasai.. "1991"? The music sounds kinda like a 1980's TV Commercial to me!! :P

Oh. My. God.

This would've essentially been Gundam under the Power Rangers knife (before PR even existed)!

Several times before, I assumed what a "Power Rangerized anime" would look like (besides Battle of the Planets). I wondered, what would happen if they took a Gundam show, kept the robot footage, and added crappy new Politically Correct characters?

This comes close to this imagined horror story, only worse.

This makes me appreciate Gundam Wing (as much as I hate that show, cool Mobile Suit designs aside) setting the pace for the US Gundam wave unscathed (sort of; There's debate between newbies over GW and MSG, but with Gundam Seed, that's reduntant).

Actually this was all original animation. So its only counterpart would have been the first idea for a US Sailor Moon. No I'm not going to provide that clip because I have to respect the Geneva Convention.

I already know. Remaking something into some bastardization is just as bad.

Either way, if Doozy Bots made it as a series (and gained some sort of popularity among, say, the retro-80s crowd), American Gundam fans would've shouted up the wazoo for decades, just as certain Super Sentai fans (myself included) would about Power Rangers.

That may be true, but still it didn't stop SD Gundam from coming Stateside, at least we stopped it half-way. Japan was not as fortunate.
