Does JFC lock threads too many times?

I haven't had a thread locked by JFC, but, for instance, was it really necessary to lock RSR's thread about rotating sigs? He could've just answered the question, instead of giving some condescending remark about PM's and locking it. All that did was make RSR look like an idiot, which isn't always the case.

ok, as far as I know, he hassnt locked up as many threads as other forums really, in reality, he seems more lax then other places i've been to or been at. I belive that that there should be a balance between moderation and I felt the balance is still very even in my opinion.
