Do You Believe in Ghosts?

God isn't a ghost... he's an entity.

Ghost's are the souls of the dead that for SOME reason have nothing better to do than to scare people. I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. Your spirit is unlocked from all the fears and anger the chemicals in your body create and it's going to choose to hang out in a house and scare people?

I don't think so. :P

Ghost don't decide to hang around and scare people. Usually they're entites who for some reason or another didn't pass on to after life. They're just connected to something that still exist in this life, a building or a piece of furniture.

If you look at it that way sure. But who says that the ghosts who scare people are good or nice. Who says they arent demons? If you believe in god you must believe in the devil. And the devil can do many things to ones soul.

Ghost are just like people. They can be nice, they can be unforgiveable, they can hurt you, they can love you, they do whatever.

I don't see how a soul can be attached to something physical. It just doesn't jibe with me. No longer bound by gravity, space and matter.... for some reason a soul can get locked in a building?

And while I sort of believe in God, I absolutely don't believe in a Devil. A real God doesn't need good/evil balance. Mythical gods do. Mythical gods whose feelings can be hurt and are affected by kryptonite, but a real god wouldn't have limits or need of a villain. That's human need and imagination.

Ghosts are an imagined reaction to the basic fear of the dark.

Not locked in a building...they feel a connection to it. Like sentimental value. So, they choose to stay there, where they feel safe, and more so, alive.

Do you believe in the concept of souls/inner spirits?

You got to understand in a lot of the haunting cases Ghost don't make themselves known until building they've been in have been changed or torn apart by the new owners. Think of it like you coming home and caught somebody redecorating your place without your knowledge or consent. You'd be a little upset too.

But I care about buildings and am attached to the mostly because my physiology requires warmth and shelter.

If I'm free of all my body's limitations and requirements, why am I hanging around a building? Why would I care? And how's gravity holding me to the planet in the first place?

If there is such a thing as a soul that goes on after the body expires, I just don't see it needing to "haunt."

Yeah but what if you don't realize you're dead, or don't want to admit it or don't know what to do. You'd probably stay by something, be it a building or a piece of furniture, because it is familiar and makes you feel safe
