Digimon: Future Ideas

Well the story would be still the same, but with the x-digimon being used until freed from evil and used their new powers for good. Even the Dark Area to be the main antagonist with the seven demon lords roaming there.

As one who graduated from university with a cross-cultural degree, I like the idea of having Chosen Children from different nations join together. Sort of like that series of episode in 02, but done on a grander scale. Cross-cultural conflict would abound, making for some realistic clashes between the children and teens. I like that idea, though it would definitely be a season you would really have to be deeply involved in if you wanted to get the nuances of every culture represented.

I'm kind of partial to going back to the Digimon Adventure idea again. Chosen Children get plucked out of the real world and get sent to the digital world, meet Digimon partners, etc. To me, the best part of Digimon Adventure was the fact that they couldn't freely travel between worlds like 02, having to rely on gates being opened for them and making serious decisions about where they wanted to go (or even getting taken from their own world forcefully). It's almost Narnian in a way, and I would love to see something like that again.

Especially in this time period of ultra-connectivity around the world. Back in 1999, the idea of a digital world seemed so futuristic and connected, we couldn't fathom it. Now in 2012+, we have social media sites galore, instant communication, phones more powerful than computers, all that. What would a child today feel about a digital world? Would they accept it as par for the course? Would the same sense of wonder overtake them or would they see it as something ho-hum?

Nostalgic, yes, but I think it could actually work again if you have a good team of writers that made sure it was different enough from Adventure.

(I have yet to watch Xros Wars fully, so I don't know how they deal with the digital world there quite yet. Maybe it is as I described.)
