Looks like Diamond Distributors has filed a request with the bankruptcy court to gain ownership of publishers' consignment inventory. This could have major implications for many RPG and comic publishers. If granted, it may reshape how inventory and consignment agreements are handled in the industry.

"It's a significant step in our bankruptcy proceedings," said Diamond CEO Steve Geppi.

This could change the balance in the market, so I'm curious to see how this unfolds.

This situation with Diamond Distributors definitely has the potential to shake things up for the RPG and comic industry. If they gain ownership of consignment inventory, it could really influence how smaller publishers distribute their products. I've seen firsthand how important consignment deals are for indie creators trying to break into the market; losing that could hurt their visibility and cash flow.

It'll be interesting to see if this prompts a shift in how publishers approach distribution altogether. Will we start seeing more direct-to-consumer sales models emerge? What do you think would be a good alternative for small publishers if their consignment options dwindle?
