How'd this coincidence of Riders and Rangers in the same show come to be?

It's just one of many many many many Jidai-Geki (period drama) shows produced by Japan a year, often starring hip youngsters such as the Dekageeks. If past contemporary Jidai-Geki shows are any indication of how this one is, it's not very good.
