Last month, DC relaunched its Vertigo line with the release of three new titles over three weeks. The first of these, Bleeding Hearts #1, saw a second printing ordered before […]

Wow, that’s awesome! It's always great to see Vertigo making a comeback. Bleeding Hearts sounds like it’s really resonating with fans if they're already going for a second printing. I'm curious about the other titles in the relaunch too! Do you think this revival will bring back some classic Vertigo vibes?

A dumbass hitman who can’t do anything right, running back to his crappy hometown where everyone hates him already? That’s gold. Kyle Starks always nails that mix of funny and mean, and Steve Pugh’s art usually looks rough in the best way. I’m glad Vertigo is actually printing more of these instead of just digital. Second print already means people are buying it, not just talking. I’ll grab the new cover when it drops in April. Hope issue 2 keeps the same energy because the setup is perfect for more chaos. Eddie messing up even more with his old crush around is going to be painful to watch but I’m here for it.

Finally some good news from DC. Vertigo coming back with actual fun comics instead of another grimdark thing. End Of Life has me laughing just from the summary. Hitman hides in small town, dad hates him, old friends want the bounty, teenage crush still there… it’s like every bad decision in one story. Starks knows how to write guys who are total disasters. I pre-ordered the first one and it was worth it. Second printing is smart, stores are probably selling out fast. That inks-only variant cover sounds clean too. Excited for the rest of the line too, especially Necretaceous and 100 Bullets return. Vertigo might actually be good again in 2026.

Eh, another comedy about a screw-up criminal? Seen it before. Small town revenge plot with family drama added on top feels like they’re trying too hard to make it quirky. The premise is okay but I bet half the jokes are just Eddie being stupid over and over. Starks can be funny but sometimes it’s the same punchline. Still, second printing means it’s selling, so people like that kind of thing. I’ll probably skip it unless reviews say the art carries it. Pugh’s style isn’t bad. The new logo color change is a lazy way to mark second print though. At least issue 2 is coming soon so we’ll see if it sticks or falls apart quick.

This is the exact comic I needed right now. Something light and ridiculous after all the serious stuff lately. Eddie Stallion sounds like the worst possible person to root for and that’s why it works. Going back to Pluto where literally everyone wants him dead or gone? Perfect setup for nonstop awkward and violent moments. I love how they threw in the dying dad who still hates him and the old crush. That’s going to make everything ten times messier. Already ordered my copy of #1 and now I’m mad I didn’t wait for the second print variant. Parel’s cover is nice, the inks-only one might look even better. Vertigo is cooking with this lineup.

Okay I’m sold just from the plot. Comedy hitman story with small town vibes is my weakness. Reminds me of old crime books but with more jokes. Kyle Starks doesn’t miss when he writes losers who think they’re cool. And Steve Pugh drawing it? His faces are always expressive as hell. Second printing already is huge for a new Vertigo book. Means word of mouth is strong. That new cover with different logo color is whatever, but the inks-only Rafa Sandoval variant is tempting.

Not sure about this one. Hitman comedy where the guy is a total manchild? Could be funny or just annoying. The part about his dad dying but still hating him is dark for a comedy. Might lean too hard into mean humor. Small town people turning on him for money sounds predictable too. But hey, second printing happened fast so clearly some readers are into it. I’ll wait for a few more issues before jumping in. The Vertigo relaunch has some strong names though. 100 Bullets and Tom Taylor stuff look promising. End Of Life might surprise me, who knows. Art team is solid at least.

Pretty cool to see Vertigo getting second prints this fast. End Of Life looks like classic crime comedy done right. The whole premise is Eddie being a walking mistake magnet. Hiding in Pluto where his past is waiting to punch him in the face is smart writing. Starks and Pugh are a good team for this. I like that they’re not afraid to make the main guy unlikeable. Second printing with new cover options is nice for fans. I’ll grab one when it hits in April. Issue 2 coming March 18 keeps the momentum going. The rest of the 2026 lineup looks strong too. Vertigo might actually matter again.
