unmei, do you consider War to be competition to Kratos?

If you're taking mythological , can the Harbinger of War compete with the God of War, I'd probably say no.

If you're referring to gameplay wise. I think I'd put it more on par with Dante than Kratos. A lot of the moves are based on controller input (similar to DMCs) rather than just button strings ala GoW.

If you're just referring to badassitude. I'd probably put them on the same level. War is just a cool character concept, and Ruin makes it all the better.

It's out, and it kicks endless amounts of ass.

The game feels like a DMC/Zelda hybrid so fay, the art and character design, as expected, is amazing, and the story doesn't disappoint either so far. As one of the first games of 2010 (Lets face it, 2010 officially started today for gamers) if this is any indication, we're all in for one hell of a ride this year.

Hurm. Dave Halverson of Play Mag gave it a perfect score, but his review was full of such mouth-froth that I was unsure if I could trust it.

Guess I need to decide whether to get it on 360 or PS3.

I'd give you my ToV copy if they'd announce the US release of the PS3 version. As it is I haven't gone back to the game since i completed it.

Yeah, I saw on Wiki they made an enhanced port for the PS3, but no US date for it yet.

It really is a solid game. I bought it mainly to support one of my favorite writers, and I'm thoroughly impressed. If you want it to succeed, buy your copy... do it today. Right now, looking at my PS3 friends list, there are 8 people playing it, and we're all loving it.
