Famed anime studio Production IG has a new movie out, but so far, no one in North America has been able to see it outside of film festivals. That could change soon — Crunchyroll just announced it’s locked down the US rights to The Concierge.

I'm really excited about Crunchyroll acquiring The Concierge! As a fan of Production IG, it's great to see their work coming to North America. The movie's premise, a department store for talking animals, is incredibly intriguing. I'm looking forward to seeing how Akino navigates this unique world. It's refreshing to see such creativity in anime. The fact that it premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and is making waves in the festival circuit adds to the excitement. Let's hope it lives up to the hype when it's widely released in Japan and eventually on home screens in 2024.

This news about Crunchyroll getting The Concierge rights made me feel like a kid in a candy store. A department store exclusively for talking animals? That's something you don't see every day. Akino's journey from trainee to full-time concierge in this quirky setting sounds like it'll be a mix of laughs and heartwarming moments. I missed its premiere at Fantasia, but I'll definitely try to catch it at the Animation Is Film Festival in LA. And the fact that it's hitting theaters in Japan next month gives me hope that we won't have to wait forever to see it here. Big shoutout to Crunchyroll for making this happen!

Honestly, I'm not too excited about Crunchyroll. I subscribed once, but their library felt pretty small. I'll stick with Netflix for my anime fix; I won't waste my money again

Woot! Crunchyroll snatched "The Concierge"! ? This is like my anime dreams coming true. Talking animals in a department store? Yes, please! Counting down the days till 2024
