Credit to Artists

This is something that's been on my mind lately. It pops in and out as I browse the forums.

So here's the deal. There's people here with galleries. They take time out of their lives to open Photoshop and make pieces of computerized art. And, believe it or not, it takes time. I know it's not just me...but when someone requests something from me, be it a banner or an animation, I try to make it as perfect as I can, as aesthetically pleasing as is possible. So there is quite a bit of work and a bit of stress that goes into it.

So, for those whose avatar and signature spaces contain work done by another member of this forum, please give credit. A simple "____ by _____" definitely suffices. It gratifies the maker and also gives credit where it is due. A big thanks to all those who do this already, and for those who don't, please do. It'd be much appreciated by all of us. :)

I think this should be stickied/pinned/whatever you call it where it's up there where everyone can (and should) read it.

Indeed. It should be common sense... but I guess we've all learned that common sense isn't as common as it should be. >_>

Takuya's right.

& It is quite time consuming depending on the banner/av.

Idk about everyone else, but I keep the PSD file until I please whoever it is for. & Also before even posting it, I'll look at it & edit it like 50 times to make it look better until I think it looks the best I can do, & that takes a real long time, so it is nice to be credited for it after you put all the time in it.

ALSO:
People should't request stuff if they aren't actually going to use it. >>
& I'm not even speaking about my own work in this one, I've seen requests in some of the better photoshoper's threads & then never see the person they made it for use the AV/Banner they requested.

Well, you never know if someone is requesting something for use on other sites (which I sometimes do).
Also, if they don't like how their request turns out, then they're not gonna want to use it. I've also been in that situation.
