World events can add so much depth and excitement to a tabletop RPG, don’t you think? Whether it’s a war breaking out, a natural disaster, or the rise of a new cult, these events can shape the trajectory of your campaigns in meaningful ways!
I’ve always felt that using events that affect the larger world, like an empire's fall or a dark plague, lets players' decisions really carry weight. I recently ran a campaign where a sudden invasion of mythical beasts forced the players to choose between saving their hometown or rallying allies to confront the threat head-on. The tension was electric!
I'm curious, how do you integrate world events into your stories? Do you go with more historical events that inspired your settings, or do you create something entirely new that fits your campaign's tone? Also, how do you ensure these events impact the players’ choices and character development?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and any epic stories you have!
