Costume Fabric Search

So I'm planning on having a costume made for Halloween (Blue Dino Ranger) and looking for a fabric. I need it to be inexpensive, but not spandex, as I am a big boy, and big boys and spandex don't mix. Someone I worked with suggested denim, but I didn't know. So what would be a good fabric for a making a costume?

I wouldn't chose a Cotton fabric because it may look kinda on the cheap side. If you want something that looks good but not as constricting or uncomfortable as spandex you may want to try a Sports Knit type fabric, they are more breathable and not as constricting.
