Core Medal disassembly/reassembly

Okay, so, I just wasted an hour of my life trying and failing to take apart and put back together a spare Hawk medal I had lying around. I have literally no idea what I keep on doing wrong but it won't come back together and I'd really appreciate if someone could give me a few hints or something. I used this video to help me but I still keep on doing it wrong. Maybe it's my disease-addled hands or idiocy but, seriously, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Help please. D:

Well, all you do is unscrew and then screw it back together, tbh im shocked youre having any troule at all (aside from maybe stripping the screwheads)

you have to make sure the plastic part fits inside the gold rims and then screw back on. like what Britannia says, the screws or the part on the plastic where the screws go on could be stripped. god i hate that. makes screwing things back in impossible...
