Classic Doctor Who = Thumbs right the **** UP

I'm a fan of the latest Doctor Who stuff and my chance on nabbing season 13 was by luck. I've owned the discs for months but now I finally had a chance to check 'em out and really.... wow.

It's so different yet so similar to the current Who. I am going to watch this in one sitting.

Gotta love some classic Doctor.

What was interesting for me is that I got exposed to Doctor Who via someone showing me Tom Baker stuff right around the time the new Doctor Who was starting up. So I developed an appreciation of both the classic and the new stuff pretty quick. Though I guess it helps that I have no problems switching gears from bubble-wrap monsters to high-budgets suits and back again. :laugh:

I never got to see Doctor Who growing up but I very quickly saw why Tom Baker's Doctor is so well loved by people my age. So even so far after the fact he has become one of my favorite Doctors. I also like Jon Pertwee and of course Eccleston and Tennant.

I went through iTunes and downloaded a ton of Classic Who awhile back - it was really great stuff. I especially liked Peter Davison's doctor.

Seriously this **** is like Doctor Who meets classic Sentai. What is the name of the beast guy in Terror of the Zygons? I like this one.

The Zygon leader is named Broton and the Loch Ness monster is a Skarasen. If you want a good introduction to classic Who, watch the 3 teamup aka multiple Doctor stories which are: The Three Doctors [tenth anniversary story], the Five Doctors [twentieth anniversary story], and the Two Doctors. As for my favorite Doctor, I can't pick one; I like them all equally, though I do lean to Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, William Hartnell, and Jon Pertwee.

The Kandyman made a list of "Top 100 most embarrassing TV moments" a while ago. I personally loved that serial and the monster but I suppose it was embarrassing - if not the episodes themselves, then all the grovelling the BBC had to do to the Bassetts liquorice company :sweat:

I've only recently started to watch random episodes of Doctor Who on BBC America with David Tennant, so I decided to go back and watch the first modern season with Christopher Eccelston and get caught up. I might decide to go back further and watch the classic episodes someday.

The fucked up thing is that I've also been watching my Jimmy Carr DVDs and now when he mentions Stephen Hawking and his "hilarious Dalek voice", I can't help but crack up. :laugh:
