I agree with that. Fans (of anything) are very fickle, so Christopher Nolan may be highly regarded NOW, but if the next Batman film isn't on par with The Dark Knight (even if it's still pretty good), people will be calling for his head. Just look at what people thought of Sam Raimi after Spider-Man 2, and then after Spider-Man 3.

Everyone knows Avi Arad is to blame for the cluster-**** that is Spider-man 3, not Raimi. He really did the best he could with pretty much being forced to include Venom in 3. If it was just Sandman and Harry as the villains, it would have clearly been a MUCH different movie in so many ways that it's not worth listing. No emo-Spidey = awesome.
