Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was one of the sensations of the 2023 summer movie season, though half of that might have been due to the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon. Oppenheimer was still a good movie in its own right, a biography of the atomic bomb’s inventor told in a non-linear fashion. Since then, everyone has been wondering what Nolan’s follow-up will be. We now know he’s betting BIG. You can’t get bigger than The Odyssey, one of the oldest epics known to man, the story of an iron-willed king and his quest to reach his homeworld after the Trojan War. Unfortunately he has to do it on a boat and Poseidon bears a grudge against him. From cyclopses to sirens to sorceresses, Odysseus is cursed to face one peril after another, and when he finally makes it back, it isn’t over — he’s gotta fight a ton of suitors who are after his wife. A movie just came out, The Return, dedicated to JUST that last conflict. Casting has not officially been settled, but the trades are reporting that Nolan wants to work with Matt Damon again, and that the cast may also include Charlize Theron, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, […]

Its Public domain so its an easy source material, at least he wont make a horror movie out of it.

Whoa, Nolan doing The Odyssey? That's insane! I mean, after Oppenheimer, I knew he'd do something big, but this is next level. I'm so hyped to see his take on such a classic story. And new IMAX tech? Seriously? He's always pushing the boundaries of filmmaking. I bet the visuals are gonna be mind-blowing. I can't wait to see the trailers. This is gonna be a must-see in IMAX for sure.

This is interesting. Nolan tackling The Odyssey… It makes sense, actually. Both are about epic journeys, complex characters, and the human condition. I’m curious to see how he translates Homer’s poem to the big screen. It’s a challenging story to adapt, but if anyone can do it, it’s Nolan. I’m especially interested in how he portrays Odysseus. He’s such a multifaceted character. This could bring a whole new audience to this classic story.

Christopher Nolan doing The Odyssey? Okay, I'm in. I've liked most of his movies, they are always interesting. This sounds like it will be a big movie. I like movies that are based on history and stuff. I'm not super familiar with the story, but I know it's a famous one. I’ll probably watch it when it comes out. It sounds like something cool to see on the big screen.

Nolan taking on The Odyssey is a bold move. It’s a timeless story, and I’m eager to see how he approaches it. He has a knack for making complex stories accessible to a wide audience. I’m especially interested in the casting. Who will play Odysseus? That’s a crucial role. This sounds like it could be a real cinematic event. I hope it lives up to the hype.
