Just watched the first episode today, and I am impressed. I've never seen any toku episode this heavy, let alone a first.

Liveman's first episodes are my favorite sentai premiere episodes.

Since they've done two Minami Koutarous, I wanna see a Kempu and Wanda on the same screen. :laugh:

That would be too awesome for a television screen to contain. That's why there were never versus movies for the classics!

I always thought it was a little disappointing that in JAKQ VS Goranger they never had a split-screen scene with Banba/Big One and Akira/Aoranger. Hmm...a movie where Miyauchi's sentai heroes takes on Hirose's villains.

Wow. All this praise for Liveman's opening? I REALLY couldn't stand it. But I don't want to get into it again, primarily because I don't feel like arguing for three pages with Fang. >_<

There's a upward climb to decency though. 4 wasn't a terrible episode. May watch more tonight.

So I was watching episode 24 when I noticed something about it. The kid in this episode, Jun has to go to cram school during the day.

Just out of curiosity, were children expected to go to cram school in the 80s? I swear this hadn't been the first time I saw kids going to cram school in this program.

Remember that at the heart of Liveman is a subtle message against overworking children.

Yuuske, jou, megumi, takuji and the other girl were already working on the Live machines loooong before the chaos. So what where they supposed to be for?

Same as the Liveman suits. Space travel. Nearly everything they created was initially meant for space travel but then their friends died and they became aware of Volt and basically spent the next couple years altering the usages of their equipment in order to effectively (*cough*) fight against their friends if & when they appeared.

AHa, sir. Of course I thought of space travel, and came up with the answer/question. The ship was already going to leave for space, whithout the mech. If they were for space, they would of got destroyed with the ship correct?

Or did I miss something?

There again, after they learned of Volt's existence, all THEIR research changed from "space-related" to "exhaustive preparation to battle super-villains". I don't even think they were going into space to begin with, and they intended to stay on Earth to protect it.
