Chaiyo announces Ultraman stuff

Blu-rays of the Showa series, and some weirdass movie project where Gomora is an alien kaiju whose arrival on earth causes an earthquake. Also, Jumborg Ace vs. Ninja Panda.

Don't hold your breath for any of these, considering how their other projects have gone. I haven't heard of their multi-season DVD set ever coming out either.

Now that they're planning projects in the US, maybe that means we can finally get the American legal system involved. Besides, didn't Tsuburaya win a case where Chaiyo couldn't make any more new products? That they were only allowed to have the international rights to the shows and nothing more?

With Chaiyo doing this, is it a good thing or a bad thing? I've read up the lawsuits fiasco, it wasn't a pleasant thing for Tsuburaya.

I'd wait and see what happens. It's not like Chaiyo haven't announced things before only for it to turn out that nothing emerges. Plus Tsuburaya are now part-owned by Bandai, and so might be able to access their legal team who I bet will be s*** hot on international copyright and contract law.
