CDC to Hollywood: Stop with the smoking already!

I'm a non-smoker, and yet a lot of my favorite movies and shows have characters who smoke, even stuff from Japan. Even I know it's not worth imitating. I know better.

But censoring it? That's going over the top. People who smoke have a right to do so. Demonizing them is going to create more problems than solutions.

Boomerang still runs cartoons where characters smoke (cigars, cigarettes, pipes), especially Popeye! But it's okay to smoke pipes, I guess. Hey, we can make Mad Men more family friendly by having everyone smoke pipes instead of cigarettes!

I better not give the PC pundits any ideas...

I don't want to sound like a dick but doesn't the CDC have more important things to do than worrying if Hollywood glamorizes tobacco smoking? You know what they can do this after they find an effective way to stem a possible swine flu outbreak.
