Captain America = Leonardo DiCaprio?

That'd be my top choice too.

And earlier I wasn't saying that someone can't put on a ton of muscle to play a part. Obviously, from the examples listed, it's highly possible.

But... what I was saying is that DiCaprio has the wrong body type to bulk up like that. He's got narrow shoulders and a thin bone structure. It's got nothing (or not much) to do with the muscles... his frame is just wrong to put on that kind of musculature. He could become lean and obviously strong, but you'd need a serious rubber suit to make him look anywhere near as brawny as other good choices for the role could get naturally. Matt Damen, Will Smith, Hugh Jackman, they've got a good frame and a good body style for adding a lot of beef. Leonardo DiCaprio, John Leguizamo, Chris Tucker... not so much.

I actually think Damon would do a good Rodgers.

However, I fear we'd get some lame ass Afflek/Damon reunion and they'd have Cap and Daredevil team-up or something.

Ben Affleck playing DD made about as much sense as Jennifer Garner playing Elektra: None.

Meh pretty much the only reason Affleck was Murdock was because he was a fan of the Daredevil comics and wanted to do it because he didn't want to see someone else mess up the role. Personally I think Nikolaj Coster Waldau could make a good Matt Murdock if they do make a new Daredevil

What's really needed for Steve Rogers is someone who is built right and looks right but who also can be believable as someone from the 40's. A tough order, but you need to find modern man with an old school look.

When trying to imagine a live-action Steve Rogers I often think of somebody that looks kinda like Buster Crabbe. For those not familiar with him, Buster was an athlete who switched to acting and starred in many classic 1930's and 40's matinee movie serials ranging from westerns to Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers and even Tarzan.

Here's a pic.

man Buster would be sooooo perfect for Cap.

You hit the right on the head with the actor needing to be able to pull off the old school look/feel.

I know he'd never do it, but Russel Crowe is one of those "period" actors that I think could handle something like this.

It would actual make some kind of wacky sense for an Aussie to be Captain America. :eyebrow:

Hmm... somebody about 30 with a naturally stern look, a chiseled jaw and shoulders for your moms... I'm drawing a blank. Matt Damen's the best I can do.

Here's a novel idea, why don't they find someone practically unknown and run with it from there?
