Can't Get My Wii Online...

It's one of the main reasons I got one. We've had some fun at parties just cruisin' YouTube and I wanted to be able to watch Veoh and the such on my television.

Any idea why my Wii keeps failing to connect to my router?

I detects it, and allowed me to put in my password, but when it does testing... it always fails.

What am I missing?

Go here type in your error code and see what pops up. I had the same issue and it turns out I have a faulty Wii. I had to send it back to Nintendo for a new one. Don't worry tho, their turn around time is much fast than Microsoft.

No I don't. It was last year when that happened. There are a few different error codes that mean that same thing I do remember that.

Quick tip for you Keith: Be careful with the WiiConnect24 option. If your internet ever drops out, or anything while the system is auto updating it may freeze. Doesn't sound like much of a problem, but the fan does NOT turn on when the system is in standby mode (unless they've fixed that with an update in the past week or so). Without the fan running, it can overheat and mess up the graphics card.

I had to send my Wii in for repairs a couple weeks ago because of that problem. It may not be a problem for newer systems... but it's worth taking note of.

just check the error code you get next time you try to connect or establish a connection.

The issues w/ there being a problem w/ the Wii systems that had to come back because of a connection issue are slim to none now. They were pretty much w/ the first batch (and a small percentage at that), and it only effected connecting online.

Since Keith JUST got his Wii system (I know, cause I sent it to him ), he shouldn't have that problem.

I would look at our troubleshooting online, because most if not all our info is on there. There's also the online tech support line you can call, but make sure you have your Wii there and have access to your router (cause we might have to poke around in your router settings).

Off the top of my head, it's probably something w/ the DNS servers (where you'd have to put those in manually into the Wii). It could also be something with your ISP, although ISP problems are getting rarer.

Got the error codes and tried all the fixes from the site. I'll give some other fixes I found a try tonight.
