Can't Get My Wii Online...

The issues w/ there being a problem w/ the Wii systems that had to come back because of a connection issue are slim to none now. They were pretty much w/ the first batch (and a small percentage at that), and it only effected connecting online.

Since Keith JUST got his Wii system (I know, cause I sent it to him ;)), he shouldn't have that problem.

I would look at our troubleshooting online, because most if not all our info is on there. There's also the online tech support line you can call, but make sure you have your Wii there and have access to your router (cause we might have to poke around in your router settings).

Off the top of my head, it's probably something w/ the DNS servers (where you'd have to put those in manually into the Wii). It could also be something with your ISP, although ISP problems are getting rarer.

Mmm...my bf's geek speak makes me horny.

If it helps, I had to manually enter the Wii's MAC address into my router, to allow it to pick up the Wireless signal.

Hmmm, it gave me a similar problem sometime ago and I ended up having to format it and reinput all the crap again, but it worked after that.

But now my PC freezes when I try to use the Wii (haha I beat it I said The Wii not My wii!.......DOH!) So now I gotta figure out a way of stopping my PC from freezing when I use the wi-fi thumb drive. Maybe I should just buy the lan router instead?

I keep hearing this... I think I'll give it a try. I'm just not sure where on my Linksys router to enter in this MAC address.

If I'm not mistaken, I had to either go to the product site, or put in the installation disc, in order for the router's options to come up. Not sure which.

Your Wii should assign a different IP in the router if you did "Search for an access point". But if your Wii works and your PC doesn't it sounds like they may be sharing an IP address.

And Keith, it COULD be a MAC address issue, although MAC Filtering has to be turned on in your router settings. So if it's set to 'off', it's probably not a MAC filtering issue.
